A week later, Leeteuk was discharged from hospital with only a cast on his leg. His dongsaengs were there to fetch him home, when Hankyung and Donghae showed up.
“Annyeong Leeteuk hyung, I hope you’re feeling better.” Hankyung greeted with a bow.
“Hello! How are you today?” Donghae followed, cheerfully.
Leeteuk had no grudge against them; they were just his friends, and not his lover. And also, they did not betray him. He smiled and thanked them for their concern, and as he was getting into the car with Ryeowook’s help, Donghae held Leeteuk’s hand firmly.
“Please, Leeteuk, give Kangin a chance. He wants to talk to you.”
“I’m sorry, Donghae, but I can’t. He’s a liar, and I doubt I can ever trust him again.”
“But Leeteuk hyung,” Donghae was persistent; he knew that this was the only time he could persuade Leeteuk to talk to his hyung before it was too late, “Kangin really loves you. That’s right, this started out as a game at first, but after a while, he realized, he loved you.”
“I’m sorry, but I’ve got to go.” Leeteuk said firmly, and Donghae and no choice but to let him go.
Little did he know that Kangin was nearby, hearing Donghae pleading and Leeteuk’s cold change whenever Kangin’s name was mentioned. When he knew that his dongsaeng had failed in getting Leeteuk to meet him, he had no choice but to run after him and talk to him then.
Kangin had allowed himself to hope and love, and he wasn’t going to let it go just because of a stupid mistake he made.
“Leeteuk, wait! Please! I need to talk to you, just for a while, and I swear I will be gone from your sight, vanish, disappear, whatever you want me to do!” Kangin called out.
Leeteuk heard him. He heard his voice. It was in a different tone; a desperate tone. He stood still, with his back facing Kangin and said, “Shoot.”
Kangin’s heart beat faster as he was granted the chance, and he ran across the distance separating them and turned Leeteuk around, so that they were face-to-face, with just mere inches apart. He put both hands on Leeteuk’s shoulders firmly and took in a deep breath.
“Leeteuk, I’m sorry for what I have done, I’m sorry for all the hurt I caused you. It was selfish of me, and I deserve to be punished. But I just wanted you to know that you are the one person I love the most in the whole entire world, and I’ve found the true meaning of love when I’m with you.” Kangin looked Leeteuk straight in the eyes for the first time in a very long while, and Leeteuk could feel that every single word he said was sincere and genuine.
“And,” tears started flowing down Kangin’s cheeks, as he held Leeteuk tighter, ”I love you, very very much.”
Leeteuk felt as though the pieces of his heart had been fixed, as though there was a rope that had been strangling him being loosened. He had never felt so much love inside a person before, he had never felt being loved and cherished by someone so much before.
He lifted up his arms and brought Kangin’s body closer to his own and whispered into his ears, “I love you too.”Labels: chapter ten
